Mike Mulcahy is CEO of GreenCape, a non-profit organisation, set up in 2010 by both the Western Cape government and the City of Cape Town, that drives the widespread adoption of economically viable green economy solutions for the region. GreenCape works with businesses, investors, academia and government to help unlock the investment and employment potential of green technologies and services, and to support a transition to a resilient green economy. Mike has degrees in Business Science and Development Finance from UCT and in 2018 was runner-up at the Circular Economy Awards at the World Economic Forum in Davos. During the drought Mike and his team rapidly developed and shared ways for local businesses to reduce their water consumption, as well as assisting companies that had potential solution technologies to find markets.
