Michael Spicer is the Deputy Chairperson of Wesgro, the Western Cape’s trade and investment promotion agency and has always had a wide involvement in both business and the public life of South Africa. During the drought he played a prominent role in bridging between the needs and resources of the province’s business sector and the various decision-making bodies responding to the drought within the City and Provincial governments. For twenty years Michael was an Executive Director at mining company Anglo American. For six years thereafter he was CEO of Business Leadership South Africa and a Board member of SA Tourism and the International Marketing Council (now Brand SA).
