Dr Gisela Kaiser is a professional civil engineer with a MBA, and PhD in Construction Management. She was appointed as Executive Director of Utility Services at the City of Cape Town in 2012, and later, for Informal Settlements, Water and Waste. As technical lead of the severe drought, she authored the Water Outlook to improve understanding of the water supply system and the City’s response to it. She resigned from the City in May 2019 to take up her current position as Director, Sustainable Water Management at Water Globe Consultants, which is headquartered in the USA.
