Bio

Craig Kesson is the Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Cape Town, a role he has held since January 2017. For much of 2017, he played a leading role in managing the City’s response to the worsening water crisis. Craig has Masters degrees from the University of Liverpool (Operations & Supply Chain Management) and the University of Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar (History of Science & Technology). Craig has worked in various senior positions in city government for nearly a decade and has advised several metro governments in South Africa. In 2017, he co-authored the book ‘View from City Hall: Reflections on Governing Cape Town.’
